Even though you want cheap paintball guns, don’t sacrifice the quality of your paintball safety equipment.  Paintball guns are very reasonably priced today and come with a wide variety of features.

To find the best paintball gun for you, you need to be realistic about your skill level.  If you are just beginning you may want to begin with an inexpensive gun until you can determine how often you will play.

One of the best ways to find out what features you need in a paintball gun is to borrow some of your friends paintball guns and try them on different paintball fields.  Once you have decided on the features you want then start looking for your gun.

If you only play for fun, there is really no need to spend a great deal of money.  There are many recreational guns that are not expensive and are of high quality.  There are also poor quality guns on the market, so you need to do your research before you but to make certain that the gun that you purchase is dependable and can be upgraded with the features you want.

If you are making plans to play in tournaments, determine what type of tournament you will be enterint.  If you are only going to play in small tournaments you can still use a less expensive gun or upgrade your old gun.  For larger tournaments you will need an “eletro-pneumatic” or a “blow-forward” gun, which are much more costly.

The guns cost is primarily determined by the gun’s pressure system and accessories.  The most popular system is the “carbon dioxide pressure system” and is found in many cheap paintball guns.

The main disadvantage in the carbon dioxide’s performance is influenced by the temperature outside and changes from its gas state to liquid.  This results in velocity instability that will affect its shooting accuracy.

Advanced paintball players use the “high-pressure air and nitrogen system” guns that are much more accurate because the nitrogen will not liquify.  These paintball guns are more expensive.

Accessories will also increase the cost of your paintball gun.  A loader or hopper is a popular accessory.  It is a container that feeds paintballs into the gun.  There are many varieties of hoppers.  Some are powered and automated.  Fast and lightweight hoppers are more costly.

Keep in mind that any paintball gun that you purchase will not be perfect and will have tradeoffs.  So when you purchase a gun, always make sure that the gun is giving you the things that you really want.
