5 Stars Nc Star Bipod Review
This is a great buy. When i saw the price of the Harris bipod with the adapters i was shocked. So i payed a quarter of the price to get a good product on my gun. I installed it onto my Mossberg 817, a fun little target/varmint shooter. It didnt have sling swivels so i used the barrel clamp. And im sure it does not mess up the accuracy too much so it will be fine. Its a great buy, with the same quality as a Harris bipod. And it looks great and feels great.
5 Stars Excellent for the money
Bought this bipod after comparing with other bipods of similar looks for allot less money. Using it on my FN 308. No gripes yet, seems sturdy enough. Was first hesitant but now satisfied.
4 Stars Good product for what you pay
I rate products based on functionality and ergonomics (comfort). I do not rate on the “cool factor” of gun products.
That being said, I really like this product. Overall I think you get a decent quality and useful product for the money.
1. I really like the quick attach function of this product. That is the primary reason I purchased this……the ability to quickly attach/detach so I can use it on multiple rifles with a rail. Also, I did not want to buy a bipod and then a quick attach mount.
2. The locking mechanism works well, but put one drop of oil on each pin that locks the bipod to the rail and work the oil into the mechanism by pushing the quick release button 10 or 15 times. Then wipe away any excess oil from the lock pins and from around the quick release button.
3. There is a small screw that attaches the leg lock to the bipod leg. The screw is on the opposite side of the lock lever. Remove the screw, put some blue locktite (#242) on the screw threads and put the screw back in. The screw is very small and does not stay secured very well. Do not put a lot of torque on the screw when you screw it back in. This is the only reason I gave this product four stars instead of a five stars.
4. The picture in the Amazon posting does not quite match the product I received, which is good. The picture makes the bipod look like it only has an opening on one end where it slides onto the rail. It doesn’t. The bipod can be slid onto the rail on either end and slide along the entire length of a Weaver rail or Picatinny rail.
5. The picture does not show the locking pins, but please note that there are two locking pins which provide a very secure and solid attachment of the bipod to the rail.
6. The feet are a hard rubber type material. I like a very positive grip because I do a lot of shooting from the bench. I cut a piece of grip tape (1.25″ long x .50″ wide) and put it on each foot for added grip.
7. The legs are not a spring retract type leg. You have to manually release the lock lever and push them back up.
8. When the legs are folded up and locked in place, there is no wobble. It’s sold in place.
9. When the legs are unfolded, the legs lock into position, but this bipod gives you the ability to make slight cant adjustments of approximately 3 degrees to each side and windage adjustments of approximately 10 degree left and 10 degree right.
I hope this helps. You won’t regret buying this product.
