5 Stars Great Looking and Performing AEG!
I picked this item up locally for about $300 including tax when they first came out, and even at that price I feel it was worth the money. This is a sharp looking gun, and it’s very accurate when you use good 20g BBs. The stock and grips are made of plastic but look like real wood, and the weight of the gun is very realistic. There are some foam pieces in the stock that can be removed to accommodate larger batteries or parallel battery packs. Its built well and has an all metal gear box so you don’t have to worry about stripping gears or other problems associated with cheap guns that use plastic gear boxes. The included battery and charger are adequate but the charger is not automatic so you need to make sure you don’t over charge your battery. The only problem I have with this gun would be the two screws located under the barrel between the forward grip and drum magazine will come loose during normal use. It’s not a big deal if you check them now and then. Also, Cybergun’s listed 426fps is actually over rated and was most likely calculated using real lightweight BB’s which are not accurate for game play. The more realistic rating for this gun using 20g BB’s is in the low to mid 300’s depending on your specific gun.
Pros:
Good looking accurate replica of the Thompson
Good performance
Room for larger batteries
Extra magazines are available
Cons:
Two screws that back out during normal use
Over rated fps by the manufacturer
Battery charger is not automatic
Bottom line:
This is a great gun for anyone from beginners to advanced player on a budget. I would also be great for collectors of Thompson replicas.
I will be buying another one of these soon since my dad had to “borrow” mine over three months ago, and now I can’t pry away from him. I don’t think he’s going to give it back without a fight…
